I can't believe I'm providing the first review for Bengal Brasserie.
This was my first 'English curry' and I was extremely pleased with my meal. My dining companion and I ate until we were painfully full, but it was worth it.
Firstly, service and decor were on point. We all had booths for increased privacy, which we appreciated. Our server was considerate, attentive, and helpful.
When I ordered a certain dish, he recommended a different one, as he thought it was more flavorful. I was so happy that I ordered it instead. My boyfriend almost ordered extra of something that already came with his meal, and our server caught that as well. Spectacular!
The pajwari (sp?) naan was a surprisingly complementary treat to the saltiness of the entrees. I had the lentils with garlic and vegetables. It tasted like it had been cooked for hours, especially because of how soft the garlic was. It was absolutely fantastic.
My boyfriend, who normally only ordered chicken tikka masala, decided on a vegetarian platter of food. It had things like saag paneer, aloo gobi, raita, and a unique chick pea dish. He enjoyed sampling all of these and it was certainly enough food to be overly full.
The prices were also very fair, considering the high quality of the food.
What a wonderful introduction to the world of Curry meals in England! -

This is a very authentic eighties style Indian restaurant with individual booths to sit in. Polite, prompt service and a good range of dishes on the menu. We ordered lamb tikka, prawn korma, pilau rice and 2 or 3 vegetable dishes. I tend to avoid very hot curries, but unfortunately, the prawn korma was too bland even for me and seemed to have been thickened with nothing more than mashed potato. I usually choose prawn biriani in Indian restaurants, but was put off by the 'vegetable sauce' on offer here (biriani ALWAYS comes with vegetable curry, which did not even feature on this menu).
I probably wouldn't bother to eat here again as there are plenty of other Indian restaurants around. -

Found this Indian place in Bath while walking around. We were in the mood for a savory and spicy meal. We were staying at the Tracy Park Hotel where the food was a little bland.
The restaurant has a nice Indian decor. Have some nice lunch specials for under 8 pounds. We got the garlic chicken and chicken biriyani off the regular menu. Both were well spiced and decent. Biriyani had more of a pulow feel. Service was good and attentive.
Not bad Indian restaurant for Bath. But is lagging in comparison to the Indian food we had in London. -

Great food, nice decor. Could be more baby friendly--there was no elevator for the pram but there was a high chair.
